Luciana SKELETON

Luciana is a real skeleton which has been in my family for two generations. My father, teaching at the Kansas City Art Institute, acquired her when a colleague’s girlfriend issued a ‘Sophie’s choice.’  During my huge studio move to Des Moines, Iowa (from Tucson, Arizona) I put Luciana in the passenger seat — something I’d never done before during my various relocations to the East Coast, Midwest, etc. In the middle of the seat I also had a ‘rescue rabbit’ — long story; during each stop for gas I would coo to the unseen bunny, which to an outside observer might have appeared directed at … Luciana!
