Moving my ‘World’s Largest Hybrid Motorized/Hand-Cranked Etching Press’ to Des Moines, from Tucson, Arizona. Konrad had just turned eighteen, and was thrilled to be using an industrial telescopic-handler forklift — it was as if he’d been using one for years. (And as always, I loved driving the large rental trucks.)
These photos show only a small portion of the studio equipment, which we painstakingly packed into the truck with zero wasted space — end-to-end. Since then, we’ve moved the press and my peripheral inventions three more times. The NUMEROUS printmaking pieces currently reside at the Kansas City Center for the Ink and Paper Arts (1427 W 9th St, Kansas City, Missouri 64101) A special thank you to Calvert Guthrie for absorbing my printmaking world.
